We convened workgroups focused on the following areas:

  • Access and the continuum of care

  • Workforce

  • Family and community assets

Featured Speakers:

  • Senator Chris Murphy spoke about legislative efforts to improve behavioral health for children and families.

  • Jay Williams from the Hartford Foundation spoke about unacceptable levels of inequity in access to treatment.

  • Ross Tine, a Connecticut Children’s patient spoke movingly about the services that saved his life when he was in crisis.

Major themes that emerged from the discussion included:

  • A consensus that we cannot treat our way out of the current crisis

  • The need to disrupt silos and fragmented payment systems to create change

  • An increased focus on early childhood and support for families
